Workshop: Folklore themed drawing
3rd February @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

We are kicking off the new year of with some fantastic workshops at By The Broads of Norfolk Folklore, starting with the myth of Black Shuck. These will be held every Tue in Feb 1pm-4pm £15 a session or book all sessions for £50. Be sure to book quickly as there are only 8 spaces available for these fantastic workshops.
In the drawing workshop you will hear the story of Black Shuck and you are invited to share anything that you know about this classic East Anglian myth while we try some different drawing materials and techniques. The idea of these workshops is to embrace the oral history of the region, by the sharing of tales and to be creative in doing so. Sitting with others and drawing is a great way of getting to know new people and making connections in the community.
The drawing workshop will be the first of 4 workshops based around the legend of Black Shuck with the monthly schedule looking like this:
Week 1 (3rd Feb) – Drawing – Thinking about how we can draw something that is mythological, looking at using different mark-making techniques.
Week 2 (10thFeb) – Painting – Trying out acrylics and watercolour paints and producing paintings influenced by Black Shuck. Experimenting with colour.
Week 3 (17th Feb) – Printmaking – Looking at mono printing and lino-cut designs following the monthly folklore theme.
Week 4 (24th Feb) – Book binding – Making a folklore themed A4 or A5 sized book. If you have been to all of these workshops you can use this session to bind together all of your artwork.
